Buried(2010)

Directed by:-Rodrigo Cortés
Starring:-Ryan Reynolds, José Luis García Pérez and Robert Paterson
Plot:-Waking groggy in pitch darkness, Paul Conroy, an American truck driver working as a contractor in Iraq in 2006, slowly realizes he is trapped inside a wooden coffin, buried alive. With his cigarette lighter, he can see the trap he is in, and he quickly realizes that there's not enough air for him to live long. He finds within the coffin a working cellphone, which allows him contact with the outside world. But the outside world proves not to be very helpful at finding a man buried in a box in the middle of the Iraqi desert. Paul must rely on his best resource--himself.
My thoughts exactly:-What a movie had me on the edge for the entire hour and a half.Ryan Reynolds did a brilliant job,as i watched the movie i felt i was in the coffin with him moving with his every move. The entire movie its just him in that box but that doesn't matter cause of the way it was made. This is one of the best thrillers i have seen in a very long time. This is one movie you should watch.

Takers(2010)

Directed By:-John Luessenhop
Starring:- Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Matt Dillon
Plot:-A seasoned team of bank robbers, including Gordon Jennings (Idris Elba), John Rahway (Paul Walker), A.J. (Hayden Christensen), and brothers Jake (Michael Ealy) and Jesse Attica (Chris Brown) successfully complete their latest heist and lead a life of luxury while planning their next job. When Ghost (Tip T.I. Harris), a former member of their team, is released from prison he convinces the group to strike an armored car carrying $20 million. As the "takers" carefully plot out their strategy and draw nearer to exacting the grand heist, a reckless police officer (Matt Dillon) inches closer to apprehending the criminals.
My thoughts exactly:-I love movies involving heists, this one isn't bad but isn't that good either.I like movies involving heists because it is fun to see the different ways to pull off a robbery, now in this one there are two the first were pretty good but the second was taken off the Italian job. As far as the acting goes everyone was average except Matt Dillon who did a good job.It does a bit boring in the middle but was fine  towards the end.To sum it up watch it would better if you skipped this one.

Gulliver's Travels (2010)

Plot:
Travel writer Lemuel Gulliver takes an assignment in Bermuda, but ends up on the island of Liliput, where he towers over its tiny citizens.
RD's views:
how does an awesome cast so so horribly wrong?? that's my question when i saw this movie it has to be the biggest disappointment a Jack Black movie has ever given me....... with excellent comedians like Jason Segel and Chris O'Dowd the movie still couldn't make a good impression........my hopes for this movie were dashed on a cliff side as this movie turned out to be a waste of time........
I give it 1.5/5

LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha (2010)

Plot:
LSD explores the human emotions of love, sex & betrayal through very candid points of view. Told through the chaos of the camera that has invaded all our lives - through handy cams filming home movies, security cameras shooting every inch of existence, mobile phones transmitting love messages, sting cameras uncovering uncomfortable truths.
RD's view:
A movie hard to digest with shocking turns it shows us the ugly truth that we choose to ignore. Recorded using different cameras with each part having been recorded in a different type of camera. The stories Love, sex & Dhokha have different plots which are interconnected in a surprisingly unusual way. You will be disgusted, amazed or will find it an interesting eye opener. If you watch this movie be prepared for a crazy ride on all sorts of cameras. I dont recomend this to emotional/weak hearted people.........
i give it 3.5/5

Emotional Atyachar (2010)

Plot:
An ensemble film set on the deserted highway between Mumbai and Goa and revolves around incidents that take place in one night to four sets of travelers. It is essentially a dark film, in which, each character is an anti-hero who has a dark mysterious interconnection between these stories that unfolds in a non-linear format. Each story varies from the other in its humor or less a similar motive
RD's views :
A very intersting movie with excellent dark humur an a fine cast this movie shows the ugly side of life and gives it a happy ending .......to some extent. with excellent dilouge writing and fine acting the movie turns out very intersting and entertaining in my opinion its worth watching as it gives a very intersting insight into crimein our country, a must watch for all you Drv D fans.......
i give it 3/5

Dev.D

Plot:
Dev who, after spurning Paro's love due to a misunderstanding, turns to drugs and vodka for solace. Paro moves on but Dev still is in remorse. He meets Chanda, a prostitute with problems of her own. Dev likes her but his penchant for self-destruction prevents him and Chanda from truly getting together. He also meets sleazy people like Chunni, Chanda's pimp who drags Dev further into self-destruction to further his own needs.
RD's view:
Considered as a modern Dev dass by many Dev D is the best Hindi movie i have ever seen, a signal that a new generation of bollywood has made its debut. Comparing it to Dev dass would be an insult to this movie is so many levels that i wont be able to list them. With an excellent story and awesome cinematography as well as excellent music Dev D is a beacon hope that bollywood is still able to make movies that can be called excellent. Not every one will be able to enjoy this movie but those who do will always remember it as a new breed of Hindi movies...........
I give it 4.5/5

The Godfather: Part III

Plot:
In the final instalment of the Godfather Trilogy, an aging Don Michael Corleone seeks to legitimize his crime family's interests and remove himself from the violent underworld but is kept back by the ambitions of the young. While he attempts to link the Corleone's finances with the Vatican, Michael must deal with the machinations of a hungrier gangster seeking to upset the existing Mafioso order and a young protoge's love affair with his daughter.
RD's view:
A fine ending to a masterpiece the third and final godfather shows the don struggling to become legitimate and ends up loosing everything in the process.......the movie still holds true to its theme of excellent acting. The movie is not slow paced like the previous 2 but disappointingly has a slightly weaker story.....
i give it 3.5/5

Little Fockers

Plot:
It has taken 10 years, two little Fockers with wife Pam (Polo) and countless hurdles for Greg to finally get "in" with his tightly wound father-in-law, Jack. After the cash-strapped dad takes a job moonlighting for a drug company, however, Jack's suspicions about his favorite male nurse come roaring back. When Greg and Pam's entire clan-including Pam's lovelorn ex, Kevin (Owen Wilson)-descends for the twins' birthday party, Greg must prove to the skeptical Jack that he's fully capable as the man of the house. But with all the misunderstandings, spying and covert missions, will Greg pass Jack's final test and become the family's next patriarch...or will the circle of trust be broken for good?
RD's view:
The final chapter to a hilarious trilogy is a big disappointment. It had some fine laughs but it cant be compared to the previous two movies. The cast played thier characters just like the previous parts and to describe the acting in one word - excellent. Its unfortunate that the story didnt complement thier acting skills. 2010 didnt bring any comedys that impressed me, so its safe to say if ur intersted in watching a good comedy Fokers wont be a waste of your time and money.............
i give it 2/5

The Green Hornet(2011)

Directed By:-Michel Gondry
Starring:-Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz
Plot:-Playboy Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) becomes the new publisher of Los Angeles' "The Daily Sentinel" after the sudden death of his father. Britt's party life is about to change when he and his driver and kung fu expert, Kato (Jay Chou), stop a robbery. With the help of Kato, Britt starts a new career of fighting crime as the masked superhero "The Green Hornet".
My thoughts exactly:- As far as action comedys go this one is pretty damn good. The action sequences in the movie is some of the best i have seen in recent times, the comedy was also well mixed in he movie. As  far as the performances they pretty impressive who knew Seth Rogen would do such a good job as a super hero and Jay Chou who played Kato didn't do bad himself.I believe they should have shown more of Christoph Waltz who did an excellent job as a villain  who is trying his best to look scary.Cameron Diaz to is good but spends to little time on screen but the doesn't affect the film much.Special mention should be taken of  the car Black Beauty who is now my second favorite super hero ride(nothing can beat the bat mobile). So go ahead watch this one it's worth it.

So, both Bill and Ted decided to gather up historical figures which they need for their report. They are hoping that this will help them pass their report so they can stay together.
My thoughts Exactly:-This is another movie from the eighties about  time travel but trust me it is nothing like back to the future. The historical figures  were portrayed quite well by the actors who played them.Reeves and Winter were perfect for their roles and shared a pretty good chemistry which is important in movies about two best friends. It provided a ton of laughs and it was a treat to listen to their vocabulary as they used words i had never heard before like"bodacious".The music played in the film was also pretty good. The movie did stay true to its name,The adven

Directed By:-Guy Ritchie
Staring:-Gerard Butler,Tom Wilkinson and Mark Strong
Plot:-Lenny Cole, a London mob boss, puts the bite on all local real estate transactions. For substantial fees, he's helping Uri Omovich, a Russian developer. Meanwhile, a local drug-addled rocker, Johnny Quid, is reported drowned, and his connection to Cole is  the key to unraveling the deceits and double crosses of life in the underworld.
My Thoughts Exactly:I would have to say this one of my favorite Guy Ritchie films,it has the perfect blend of comedy and action.I especially liked the opening sequence where Archie tells us who is a real rocknrolla. Pretty decent performances by the cast. The soundtrack  also compliments the film. This was  to be the first in a trilogy but due to low box collection I don't see it happening.

Prince of Persia:Sands of Time(2010)

Directed By:-Mike Newell
Starring:-Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Ben Kingsley
Plot:-A young fugitive prince and princess must stop a villain who unknowingly threatens to destroy the world with a special dagger that enables the magic sand inside to reverse time.
My thoughts exactly:-The Prince of Persia series is one of the few games that i have actually played and loved as i am not that much of a gamer. So when I heard that a movie is being made I was very excited but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations, the performances were good especially Gemma Arterton,I felt the story in the game was way better than the one on screen, special effects were up to the mark, costumes superb.Overall this was a bad attempt to turn a hugely successful game into a movie franchise.
My rating:-2.5/5

Big Trouble in Little China(1986)

Director:-John Carpenter
Starring:-Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall and Dennis Dun
Plot:-Jack Burton, a tough-talking, wisecracking truck driver whose hum-drum life on the road takes a sudden supernatural tailspin when his best friend's fiancee is kidnapped. Dodging demons and facing baffling terrors, Jack battles his way through Lo Pan's dark domain in a full-throttle, action-riddled ride to rescue the girl.
My thoughts exactly:-Big Trouble in Little China is a classic B-movie.It is a perfect mix of comedy,action, Kung-Fu,adventure.Kurt Russell gives an excellent performance of a trucker who has no clue of what is going on in Chinatown but is still willing to help out his friend played by Dennis Dun who does a good job in his role as well, the rest of the cast is also pretty good, especially Kim Cattrall. The film does have a big problem in the fact that its story moves pretty fast,I found myself  puzzled at first before I finally figured out what was going on.Overall it was a treat to watch I recommend you check it out.

How I Met Your Mother S06E13 & Two and a Half Men S08E13

How I Met Your Mother:

Finally after the winter break how i met your mother comes back with a bang........the final doppelganger......robin sparkles and a new video of robin...........Lilly and marshal worried that they couldn't have a child.........embarrassing meeting with marshal's parents........but for the first time has the series come to a serious situation at the very middle of a season.........all in all an episode totally worth watching and entertaining .........i leave you with with a picture where marshal finds out his dad has passed.........

Two and a Half Men:

Two and a half men is an extremely long running series which had reached a all time low before the winter break but has come back with excellent comedy which is the reason we all love it.........
Allan is suspicious of charlie and linsday'd new friendship am goes physco with it..............he ends up getting urinated on by a skunk twice and also get covered up with ketchup............a classic two and a half men episode which keeps the series fresh.......
the striking thing about this series is that it keeps making us laugh for years with the exact same situation............which requires some high level of talent.......

Zombieland(2009)

Directed By:-Ruben Fleischer
Starring:-Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Woody Harrelson

He gets a ride with a boisterous zombie-hating good-old boy headed for Florida, and soon they confront a young woman whose sister has been bitten by a zombie and wants to be put out of her misery. The sisters were headed to an LA amusement park they'v  heard is zombie free.
My thoughts on:-At first on when i heard its name,i thought it to be another zombie horror flick, but imagine my surprise when i saw was completely different, this zom-com was a treat to watch with an all round good performance by its cast especially  Woody Harrelson.don't get me  wrong it is filled with its share of zombie violence too with Woody Harrelson bashing a zombie to the ground with a banjo.Jesse Eisenberg's characters rules are very well thought of,I will keep them in mind just in case the world has a zombie outbreak.I would strongly recommend this film.
